Virunga Lodge is comprised of 10 exquisite Bandas that feature private verandas, from which visitors can relax while watching the beautiful Tropical sunset over the picturesque landscape of Lakes and Virunga Mountains. These Bandas are in form of standard and Deluxe categories.

Standard Bandas

This elegant Lodge has eight Bandas under this category with separate bedroom area, living area with comfy sofa and most remarkably views of the Virunga Volcanoes as well as the Lakes.

Deluxe Bandas

Two Bandas at Virunga Lodge are considered Deluxe and they were named Ibiyaga and Ibirunga. These have their individual/private sitting rooms, hot tub, vast veranda that overlooks the dramatic Virunga Mountains and the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, refined interiors provided comfort and warmth.

There is a spa and sauna facility at Virunga Lodge known as “Ikirunga”, offering each guest with complimentary 50-minute massage, personal butler service for all visitors, the Dian Fossey map room where private events as well as conservation lectures are conducted, complimentary Wi-Fi within the main Lodge area, a lounge with a new bar offering different kinds of drinks with privacy, to mention but a few.

Tourist adventures enjoyed by guests of Virunga Lodge

Staying at the luxury Virunga Lodge means you can get signed up for different tourist adventures within the Lodge premises such as touring the permanent exhibition in the Dian Fossey Map Room or touring and donating at the “one sheep per family” project launched in 2014 to mark the decade anniversary of the Lodge. There are also a million and one opportunities of undertaking different tourist activities within Volcanoes National Park and these include gorilla trekking through the thick forest to search to any of the 12 habituated gorilla families, Golden monkey tracking, hiking to the Dian Fossey tomb in the stunning meadow between Bisoke and Karisimbi Volcanoes, birding tours to be introduced to part of the 200 species that call the Park home, climb one of the Virunga Volcanoes especially Bisoke and Karisimbi, take tours of the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera during one of your free afternoons.
