Detailed 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Arrive through Entebbe International Airport, and you will be picked up by your 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari driver guide who will transfer you to your overnight accommodation.

For early arrival, you can undertake a short city excursion and visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, Botanical gardens, the markets, or relax at the Imperial Beach and admire beautiful sunset.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park and visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up from overnight accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe. You will be transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a private, non-profit, animal sanctuary in Uganda. It proudly harbors Uganda`s endangered Rhinos.

On arrival, you will be briefed and thereafter begin your on-foot Rhino tracking. Depending on how long this activity takes you will proceed with to arrive at your accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park; Covering an area of 3,893 km², this particular park sits on the shores of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop. On arrival, you will check into your accommodation and relax.

In the evening, you will head for a sunset game drive; expect to encounter numerous games including Elephants, the Rothschild giraffe, wild cats, birds etc. Depending on how long this takes, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

7 Day Uganda Wildlife Safari

Uganda Wildlife Safari

With packed breakfast, you will do an early morning game drive exploring the different tracks in the park. Expect to encounter numerous games including Elephants, the Rothschild giraffe, wild cats, birds and hippos. Depending on what you see and how long this drive takes, you will return to the lodge for your lunch.

After Lunch, you will do a boat cruise on the Nile; expecting to numerous wildlife i.e. from birds to reptiles, you will be dropped at the bottom of the falls; here you will meet with your ranger who will 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari guide you during your hike to the top of Murchison falls.

At the top, you will meet with your driver who will transfer you back to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast and with lunch enroute, you will embark on a journey to Kibale National Park.

Kibale National Park; is a national park in Western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometers in size and is located between 1,100 meters to 1,600 meters in elevation; this forest is known for harboring primates e.g. the Chimpanzees & black and white colobus monkeys, numerous bird species and Forest elephants. On arrival you will check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and relax at the lodge

6 Days Akagera Nyungwe Tour

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park for briefing and thereafter you will begin you Chimpanzee trekking on the 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari.

Depending on how long the trek takes, you will return to the lodge for your lunch. After Lunch, you will spend the entire afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Swamp or community walk in Bigodi and Tour the crater lakes

Early morning after breakfast, you will head for a swamp walk in Bigodi wetland. Bigodi wetland sanctuary harbors numerous species of butterflies, iconic birds such as the great blue Turacos, small animals like squirrels, primates like olive baboons and Vervet monkeys, and mammals like the swamp dweller – Sitatunga antelope, etc.

Depending on how long this will take, you will return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you may decide to relax at the lodge or take a leisurely walk within the nearby crater lakes.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and take a boat cruise

After breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park; through the legendary Fort portal and scenic views of towering Rwenzori Mountains.

Queen Elizabeth National Park: Occupying an area of 1,978 km², this National Park is located on the foothills of Rwenzori Mountains and is home to several savannah species of flora and fauna. It was established in 1952 and named after Queen Elizabeth II.

Check in at the lodge, and in the afternoon, undertake a boat trip along Kazinga channel to view large and small mammals, reptiles and several bird species.

Kazinga Channel; in Uganda is a wide, 32-kilometre-long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George, and a dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Depending how long the cruise takes, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Morning game drive and Transfer to Bwindi Forest

Early morning, you will head straight to the gate; here you will meet with your 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari ranger who will guide you on your wildlife game drive in the park.

Depending on how long the game drive takes, you will head to the breakfast area overlooking one of the salt lakes in the park for a Rolex meal.

After breakfast, you will return to the lodge, check out and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Dinner and night stay at the lodge.

 

Day 9: Gorilla trekking and cultural tour in the evening

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla Trekking Experience in Uganda

Wake up at 6:00am for a warm cup of African coffee, prepare for your long-awaited trek. At 7:00am, hike to the visitors briefing area, which is a few minutes’ drive from your place of accommodation. Meet with the head ranger and other visitors for a general briefing on the dos and don’ts while conducting this memorable trek.

The trek starts at 8.30am with simple forest hikes through designated trails and depending on the gorilla family, trekking experience can last for about 2-8 hours. The trek may become strenuous depending on the weather and how far the gorillas have moved, but the epic one-hour encounter with a habituated family is truly refreshing.

Later, return back to the starting point with fellow trekkers, meet your 10 Days African Gorilla & Wildlife Safari guide or have a quick picnic lunch and in the evening, you may take a short tour to the Batwa community to enjoy their stories, ancient culture and dances.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast in Bwindi, leave at leisure via Mbarara-Kabale highway; pass Igongo cultural center for lunch and the equator for memorable photos. Depart through Entebbe airport later in the evening.
