It was constructed and is still managed by Governors’ Camp Collection but its ownership is with Sabyinyo Community Livelihood Association, an incredible Community Trust that puts revenues from community walks and accommodation fees from the facility into pushing for socio-economic as well as protection projects for communities close to Volcanoes National Park.

It is now clear that Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is strategically located at a stone throw from the Headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, the starting point for on-foot gorilla trekking adventures within this part of Rwanda. Being nestled along the foothills of the Virunga Mountain rewards visitors with incredible views of these Volcanoes as well as the surrounding countryside. Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is characterized by 6 cottages, two stupendous suites and one family cottage, in Stone buildings blended with Rwandese terracotta tile roofs as well as contemporary features like elegant en-suite bathrooms with Cinnabar green toiletries such as body lotion, shampoo, shower gel, bathing soap and hair conditioner), huge fireplaces at the individual sitting rooms to provide warmth during cold evenings, separate dressing room, two patio areas where jaw-dropping views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the neighboring countryside is relished.

The family cottage is outstanding and is marked by two private en-suite bedrooms that are interlinked by a shared veranda. Also provided in the rooms are a water bottle, writing desk and chair, to mention but a few.

The Sabyinyo Silverback main Lodge area is spacious with a stylish sitting room for unwinding with friends and family, a bar area with a wide selection of drinks, a central fireplace, dining room, snug reading area, an outside terrace with phenomenal views of the Virunga Volcanoes as well as a reception area and souvenir shop.

A wide range of Spa treatments are also provided to guests of Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge and surprisingly, you can even request for them at the seclusion and privacy of your room.

All meals (Continental and English buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner) are enjoyed from the dining room, at the main Lodge area. There is also room for special meals/diets as well as snacks. Laundry services are also provided on arrangement and at no extra cost.
